Crews battling 5-acre fire In Wind Cave National Park
HOT SPRINGS, SD – Crews from multiple agencies are fighting a 5-acre fire in Wind Cave National Park. The park’s engine crew spotted the fire at 12:42 p.m. Saturday, July 27. As of late afternoon, the Limestone Fire was actively burning in grass and timber on a ridgetop next to Wind Cave Canyon, approximately 2 miles northeast of the park’s visitor center.
STICKS TO PLAY FOR 14U STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY AFTERNOON
The Freeman/Marion 14-and-unders have one game left this season and it’s for all the marbles. The Sticks earned a spot in Sunday afternoon’s VFW 14B state championship game after beating Britton 11-1 in the semifinal round on Saturday. They will play Parkston at approximately 3 p.m. Sunday in Garretson. Parkston defeated Freeman/Marion 6-5 during the regular season on June 12.
