Local Midland University Students Shine at State FBLA-Collegiate Conference, Nine Qualify for Nationals

Midland University's FBLA-Collegiate program students performed well at the 2024 FBLA-Collegiate State Leadership Conference in Kearney, Nebraska. The university was among twelve schools participating. Nine Midland students qualified for the FBLA-Collegiate National Leadership Conference, ranking in the top four in their categories.

Scott Tatum and Amy Dosch were named Who’s Who Nebraska FBLA-Collegiate recipients. Dosch also won the FBLA-Collegiate State VP of Technology position and an FBLA-Collegiate Scholarship.

In the competition, Brodie Arnold, Cameron Poolton, and Scott Tatum won first place in the Hospitality Management Case. Arnold and Dylan Amick placed third in the Marketing, Sales, Communication case. Cody Kent, Forrest Reyes, and Ethan Smith took second place in Entrepreneurship Pitch, while Max Duckweiler, Reyes, and Smith took third in Business Presentation.

Several students also had individual successes. Tatum ranked fourth in Foundations of Selling, Ruzicka third in Entrepreneurship Pitch. Amick and Reyes ranked fourth in Emerging Business Issues, and Poolton fifth in Foundations of Selling.
