The Watertown Regional Landfill, part of Public Works, has opened its Spring Yard Waste Drop-off Site. It will run from Tuesday, April 16th to Saturday, April 20th, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding Sunday and Monday. The location is east of Municipal Utilities at the 4th Ave. S.W. Bridge.

Watertown residents can dispose of leaves, grass, garden vegetation, bushes, and branches at the site at no cost. Tree limbs up to 6 inches in diameter and 6 feet in length are also accepted. Waste should be placed in the designated area during operating hours.

Residents should unload their yard waste from containers or bags into city-provided dumpsters. Landfill staff will handle the disposal of yard waste containers using specialized trucks. Only bagged or containerized yard waste will be accepted. Loose yard waste should be taken to the Landfill.

The Landfill also accepts yard waste and branches from Watertown residents at no cost, Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Commercial or contractor loads incur a tipping fee. Free disposal is available for Watertown residents with a current Municipal Utility bill. Without a current bill, the standard tipping fee applies.

Vehicles transporting waste to the Landfill or drop-off site must be secured or covered to prevent scattering. Uncovered loads will incur double the standard tipping fee. For more information about the Landfill, including location, hours, container repair, and rates, visit the City’s website.
