    Arrest made in murder of Aiken man found dead in River Bluff subdivision

    AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – A man has been arrested for the May 6, 2024 shooting death of 22-year-old Jalen Jones.

    The ATF Rage Task Force and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Jaquaez Bibbs from North Augusta.

    Bibbs is being held in the Richmond County County Detention Center with the charges of Murder and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

    On May 6, 2024, Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to the 300 block of Greenwich Drive in reference to a shooting where Jones was found in a shed in the backyard of the home and pronounced deceased on the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

    According to authorities, the case is still ongoing and more arrests are expected in relation to the incident.
