Hey Florida foodies, there’s a bit of a shake-up in Plantation’s popular dining scene! The Quarterdeck Bar and Grill, a beloved spot known for its vibrant atmosphere and classic bar fare, recently faced a temporary closure following a state inspection.

For those who might not know, Quarterdeck Bar and Grill has been a South Florida staple since the 1980s, boasting six locations across the region. With fun specials like Wing Wednesdays and Philly Cheesesteak Mondays, it's no wonder that patrons rave about it. The Plantation location, nestled at 12310 W Sunrise Boulevard, has earned a solid 4.3 stars out of 5 from over 2k reviews.

However, not all was sunny at the Quarterdeck recently. On August 5, 2024, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation conducted an inspection and flagged six violations. Some of the basic issues included a lack of covered waste receptacles in the women's bathroom and missing handwashing signs above the employee sink.

More concerning were the high-priority violations: live roaches, raw shrimp stored above sweet potatoes, raw salmon stored over whiskey-squared ice, and chicken breasts kept at temperatures above 41 degrees. These issues prompted a temporary shutdown of the restaurant.

But don’t worry—by August 6, 2024, a follow-up inspection showed that while two violations still lingered, they weren’t an immediate threat to public health. The restaurant was cleared to reopen and has met the necessary inspection standards.

So, if you’ve been missing your favorite spot for wings and Philly cheesesteaks, it’s back in business and ready to welcome you. Just remember, a little patience might be needed as they sort out these hiccups!
