Sanford community activists come together to address youth violence
SANFORD, Fla. — In the wake of recent shootings involving teens, the Sanford community is determined to find solutions to the escalating violence. In the spring, someone fatally shot a 17-year-old boy during a drug deal gone wrong and another shooting at Cabana Live left 10 people with non-life-threatening injuries. In that incident, a 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged, according to authorities.

City of Oviedo will hold 4th of July celebration this weekend
OVIEDO, Fla. — The city of Oviedo is getting ready for its big fireworks show on the 4th of July. This year, it's scheduled forSaturday, July 6 at the Oviedo Mall. Due to scheduling conflicts with the fireworks vendor, Oviedo City Council voted during a December meeting to hold the celebration on July 6 instead of June 29 or Friday, July 5. They held the fireworks show in 2023 on July 1.
