For many Floridians, a trip to Waffle House is a reliable way to enjoy a hearty breakfast or a late-night bite. Unfortunately, the Waffle House at 9420 Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers has recently been forced to close its doors temporarily following a state inspection, marking its second closure in just over a year.

    Inspection Findings

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation conducted an inspection on August 15, 2024, uncovering a total of seven violations. Among the basic issues were:

Black/green mold-like substance in the ice bin

    Soiled ceiling tiles

Slime and standing water under the drink station shelving

    High-priority violations included:

    Live flying insects

Cold items like eggs, ham, cheese, and tomatoes held at temperatures exceeding 41 degrees

Sliced ham and cheese held above 52 degrees, resulting in a stop sale order

Due to these violations, the restaurant was temporarily shut down. However, following a follow-up inspection on August 16, 2024, the establishment was found to have corrected the issues and met inspection standards, allowing it to reopen.

    Previous Closure

This Fort Myers Waffle House also faced a closure in September 2023. The repeat violations and recent shutdown highlight ongoing challenges for this location, even as it strives to maintain its reputation for quick and satisfying meals.
