The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the body found in Firestone Park Saturday night as Elijah Jones, a 20-year-old man from Akron.

Akron police originally responded to reports of a shooting on the 1800 block of Coventry Street at about 11:25 p.m., where Jones was discovered in front of one of the residences. He was transported to Summa Health Akron City Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Stacy Allen Martin, of Coventry Street in Akron, was taken into custody and charged with murder, weapons under disability, tampering with evidence and obstructing justice. He was later booked into the Summit County Jail.

Martin and Jones were reportedly arguing just prior to the shooting. Police are working to identify any possible witnesses to the incident.

    The investigation is ongoing.
