Akron police arrested a 32-year-old man Monday in connection to an attack in the Summit Metro Park, according to a release.

Akron officers and a metro park ranger responded to a call around 9:17 a.m. in the 1100 block of Cuyahoga Street near Trailhead that a woman was screaming for help. When officers arrived and spoke with the 33-year-old victim, who police reported as being visibly shaken, she told officers that she was coming from the bathroom when an unknown male grabbed her from behind and began assaulting her.

Police said three good Samaritan women heard the victim screaming for help and went to her aid. During the attack, one of the women reportedly hit the suspect in the head with a rock, and they helped pull the victim away from the attacker.

The suspect was identified as Issac Armour.

Armour was arrested at the scene and later charged with gross sexual imposition, unlawful restraint and assault. He was booked into the Summit County Jail. His vehicle and other evidence were taken and are being held for further investigation, police said.
