No need to panic this weekend if you hear and see military aircraft flying over Akron.

The skies over the Akron-Fulton Airport will be buzzing with planes and helicopters as the Props and Pistons Festival will be Saturday and Sunday.

Parking is limited at the airport so shuttle buses will take visitors from the designated lots in and around Derby Downs.

The annual show offers a chance for aviation fans to get up close to modern and historic aircraft.

Some are available for tours and others will do fly over demonstrations.

The event features free flight simulators, a kids zone, a car show, live music and food trucks.

You can even hitch a ride − for a price − on some of the aircraft.

Rides are first come, first serve.

How much does it cost to go to the Props and Pistons Festival?

The air show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is $25 for adults, $17 for seniors and veterans, $5 for kids ages 6 to 17, and free for those ages 5 and younger.

Skydiving and air craft flyovers typically run between noon and 4 p.m.

What aircraft will be on display at the Akron air show?

Some two dozen or so aircraft are slated to be a part of this year's air show.

Many military aircraft including the A-10 "Warthog" along with the B-17 Flying Fortress and a C-130 Hercules will be on display.

There will also be historic military aircraft including the B-17 "Sentimental Journey" and B-25 "Maid in the Shade" both from World War II.

Helicopters on display include a Blackhawk, UH-60M and a C-123K “Thunder Pig” from the Air Heritage Museum.

The aircraft expected to take flight during the air show include a Pitts Model 12 plane, the GERONIMO! Skydiving Team and a dozen T-34 aircraft flying in formation.
