    30 food vendors coming to Hardesty Park Labor Day weekend for Akron Food Truck Festival

    Akron knows how to celebrate with its area food trucks, and Hardesty Park is one of the places to enjoy them this Labor Day weekend.

    The newer Akron Food Truck Festival will return to the West Akron park for its second year from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and noon to 8 p.m. Saturday at 1615 W. Market St.

    The event started over Labor Day weekend last year with 25 food trucks as well as local makers (non-food vendors) at Hardesty Park, with an estimated 15,000 in attendance.

    This year, 30 food trucks will participate, plus twice as many makers, organizers say.

    The food trucks and their offerings are:

    Betty's Bombass Burgers of Cleveland. Gourmet burgers and homemade cheesy tots.

    Wholly Frijoles of Cuyahoga Falls. Authentic Mexican street food.

    Cookery Food Truck of Wadsworth. Wraps, salads, tacos, bowls, sides and desserts.

    The Howlin' Bird of North Canton. Rotisserie chicken, chicken tenders.

    Ravencrest Pizza Co. , Summit County. Specialty pizza by the slice.

    Henry's Creamery of Bath. Artisanal ice cream.

    Smash Time Food Truck , Cleveland. Tacos, burgers, fries, more.

    Hatfield's Goode Grub of Cleveland. Southern comfort food.

    Best Damn Smoked Meats of Akron. Brisket, pulled pork, more.

    Smoke This of Willoughby Hills. Craft pit barbecue and catering.

    Smokin' Rock n' Roll of Bay Village. Barbecue with a rock and roll-themed menu.

    Thai It Up of Akron. Authentic Thai food.

    River Dog Food Truck of Cleveland. Burgers, dogs, chicken, sausages.

    Smooth Rider Smoothies of Cleveland. Premium smoothies.

    Southern Thangs Grub Truck of Copley. Po' boys, shrimp skewers, gator bites.

    Metropolis Popcorn of Cuyahoga Falls. Gourmet popcorn.

    Rabbit Food of Fairport Harbor. Vegetarian/vegan food with an emphasis on local, seasonal produce.

    Cheesy Dave's of Cleveland. Gourmet mac and cheese, burgers, sandwiches, sides.

    Dr. Hibachi Food Truck of Cuyahoga Falls. Hibachi entrees.

    Manna Food Truck of Rocky River. Lobster rolls, sandwiches, burgers, more.

    Off the GRIDdle of Cleveland. Pull pork, pulled chicken sandwiches.

    Birdies of Cuyahoga Falls. Unique burgers, chicken sandwiches, appetizers, skewers, Stoner Bowl.

    Kona Ice . Flavored shaved ice.

    CLE Cookie Dough Co. Edible cookie dough.

    Cafe Arnone of Fairlawn. Italian espresso, artisanal gelato.

    Johnny Lotes of Akron. Latin street corn.

    OG Street Eatz of Canton. Cheesesteaks, barbecue, sandwiches, sides.

    D-Bo's Grill of Cleveland. Brisket, pulled pork.

    American Chuck Wagon of Akron. Burgers, subs, fries, onion rings, tots.

    Original Steaks and Hoagies . Philly cheesesteaks, Italian specialty sandwiches.

    The weekend will include entertainment, featuring headliner Billy Morris and the Sunset Strip in a tribute to the '80s Saturday night. Morris is also co-owner of the food truck Smokin' Rock n' Roll.
