    Kent State football reaps huge paydays for non-conference games

    The Kent State University football program will show its worth with three non-conference games this season.

    In three of Kent’s games this season, road trips, they will receive seven-figure paydays. The Golden Flashes picked up a check for $1.1 million for its trip down the road to Pittsburgh to play the Pitt Panthers , a game they lost 55-24.

    The trips are more lucrative further away from the sleepy college town.

    The Golden Flashes ’ next road trip, Sept. 14 to Knoxville, Tenn. to play the Tennessee Volunteers will generate $1.35 million for the program.

    The following week a trip to Happy Valley to play the Penn State Nittany Lions will pay the program $1.6 million. In all the three games will generate more than $4 million this season.
