A 34-year-old male was arrested Wednesday morning in connection to a shooting in West Hill, according to Akron police.

Officers responded to a shooting in the 200 block of Crosby Street around 10:03 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a 33-year-old male on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to his left foot. The man told officers he had run away from the suspect, fearing for his life.

Officers subsequently recovered a shell casing from the scene and began searching the area for the suspect.

Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended the suspect, Brandon Evans, near Glendale Cemetery shortly after. He was transported to Summit County Jail and charged with felonious assault.

The cause of the shooting is still being investigated.
