It happened back on June 28 near West Bartges Street.

According to Sgt. Mike Murphy, a 25-year-old woman was running on the trail at night when she encountered a man, but there was no interaction.

“There were no problems or interactions at all. The second time she passed him, he grabbed her and wrestled her down to the ground,” said Murphy.

Thankfully, a man walking the Towpath witnessed the two on the ground, scaring the suspect off.

“The description is a white male, 17 to 19 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6, brown hair, clean shaven,” said Murphy.

Police said at this point, this appears to be a random attack. However, they’ve increased patrols in the Towpath area as they search for the suspect.
