Teen killed in Akron crash while driving dirt bike

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – A teenager has died after a crash involving a dirt bike and an all-terrain vehicle happened in Akron Friday night.

According to a press release from the Akron Police Department , officers responded to the crash at Manchester Road and Nesmith Lake Boulevard around 11:30 p.m.

According to the release, a caller indicated that there were three vehicles involved in the crash, including a white Chevrolet truck, an ATV and a dirt bike.

Officers at the scene found the driver of the dirtbike at the scene unresponsive. The 19-year-old man was later pronounced dead, according to the release.

The driver of the ATV, a 21-year-old man, was found conscious and breathing. He was then taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General for evaluation, the release said.

During the investigation, officers were told by witnesses that the dirt bike and ATV were driving in the wrong lane of traffic when the crash happened.
