Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a 39-year-old Akron man Tuesday in connection to various weapons and drugs charges, according to a release.

A warrant was issued for the suspect after four guns, cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl were recovered from a home on July 3.

The fugitive task force's investigation led the team to locating the suspect at a home in the 100 block of Doyle Court in Akron. The suspect subsequently barricaded himself inside the home, forcing Akron police's SWAT team to be called. The man surrendered to officers shortly after and was arrested without incident.

“Each illegal firearm taken off the streets and out of violent criminal’s hands works to ensuring a safer community in the city of Akron and all across northern Ohio,” U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said in a release.
