Alabama woman killed after she was ejected from Hummer in accident

An Alabama woman was killed Friday evening when her vehicle flipped over and ejected her, state troopers said.

A single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. Friday, and claimed the life of a Lowndesboro, Alabama, woman.

Elizabeth L. Mitchell, 57, was fatally injured when the 2008 Hummer H2 she was driving left the roadway, struck a sign before re-entering the roadway and eventually overturning.

Mitchell was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Old Selma Road near Cantelou Road, approximately two miles west of Montgomery, in Montgomery County.
