FDOT begins resurfacing project on Williston Road this week

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Preliminary construction activities began this week on a project to resurface approximately 3.3 miles of Williston Road from SR 25 (U.S. 441) to SR 26 (University Avenue). The project includes asphalt resurfacing, traffic and pedestrian signal upgrades, curb and sidewalk repairs, and street lighting enhancements.

Traffic management will adhere to FDOT standards, with lane closures and flagging operations occurring during off-peak hours, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., seven days a week.

FDOT selected V.E. Whitehurst and Sons Inc. to complete this $8 million project by spring 2025, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
