Current charges filed against the defendant include four counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, corporal injury to a relationship partner, elder or dependent adult abuse, infliction of injury, possession of an assault weapon, possession of an unconventional pistol, and numerous enhancements. However, the accused is expected to face additional charges after his 1-year-old son, Wesley, succumbed to his wounds and passed away on Monday.

If convicted and sentenced of all current charges, including the gun enhancements, the accused killer could face more than 231 years in prison, according to the District Attorney’s office. He is currently being held without bail and is expected to appear in court for a full arraignment on July 22, when he will enter a plea, according to an NBC News report . He was represented by an Alameda County Public Defender, who told NBC that the defendant intends to plead not guilty.

“This is an unimaginable act of violence that leaves us all heartbroken for this family and for the City of Alameda community members shocked and traumatized by this tragedy,” said District Attorney Pamela Price .
