Man sentenced in plea deal for DWI crash that injured pregnant woman and her unborn baby
SAN ANTONIO – A man who pleaded guilty to intoxication assault for a crash that injured a woman and her unborn child was sentenced on Monday. Mark Walton agreed to the plea deal in May. On Monday, 437th District Court Judge Joel Perez sentenced Walton to eight years in prison, including credit for time served, which is a little more than a year and a half. The sentencing range was between two and 10 years. He must serve four years before he is eligible for parole.

Early this morning, in the 1200 block of Longmont, a man in his twenties was shot in the arm. SUV crashes into Westside San Antonio home, SAPD says
San Antonio Police are currently investigating the cause of a crash of a motor vehicle into a home in the city’s West Side. The San Antonio Police Department at the scene of a crash reported at about 3:09 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, on the 1400 block of Benrus Drive said officials are investigating what caused an SUV to slam into the home. The SAPD said luckily, those inside the home at the time of the crash were able to make it out of the home safely and without the injury. The driver of the SUV did remain on the scene after the crash. Officials said it is unclear at this time if the driver of the SUV will face any charges in the crash, and there were no injuries to report at the scene. Officials said San Antonio Fire Department officials were able to secure the integrity of the home and cover the hole made by the vehicle. This is a developing story. She was also forced to hand over money and goods she received as a result of the crime.
