Residents in Moultonborough sought to prohibit boat rafting on Braun Bay, complaining of noisy crowds during summer weekends and holidays. New Hampshire’s safety commissioner has denied a petition to ban boat rafting on a popular area of Lake Winnipesaukee that locals have dubbed the “toilet bowl” and “Animal House” for its supposedly party-like atmosphere.

I remember my first time riding on the Conway Scenic Railroad. I loved watching trains, and the house I grew up in in South Paris, Maine, had tracks I could see right out a window at the end of the street. I'd often walk down to the crossing to watch them switch cars out of the Paris Manufacturing Company, and one time, the engineer offered me a ride. It was a quick back and forth, but a moment I'll never forget.

This week has worn me out and I’ve been struggling to finish any work. Even though I had a night this week where I couldn’t get any sleep, I’m set on shaking off the tiredness and getting some writing done. My head is spinning with so many feelings – kinda feels like being back in Hurricane Andrew back in ’92.
