    The New York State Thruway Authority is warning residents of an ongoing scam regarding E-ZPasses. Also, the Albany Common Council has set a new pace for drivers in the city.     1. NYS Thruway Authority warns of E-ZPass scam

    The New York State Thruway Authority reminds New Yorkers to beware of scammers regarding E-ZPass. E-ZPass and Tolls By Mail will never contact anyone asking for personal information like credit card numbers, social security, usernames, or passwords.

    2. St. Peter’s’ patients out of network for UnitedHealthcare

    A patient is facing uncertainty over his upcoming surgery at St. Peter’s Health Partners due to the contract dispute with UnitedHealthcare, which has left him without in-network coverage for his critical procedure.

    3. Albany speed limits to drop from 30 to 25 MPH

    The Albany Common Council has set a new pace for drivers in the city. They passed a measure Monday night that will lower the speed limit on most roads by 5 MPH.

    4. NTSB issues preliminary report of Loudonville plane crash

    The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released a preliminary report of the fatal plane crash in Colonie on Monday, June 17. The report said there were no mechanical malfunctions, failures, or signs of an in-flight fire.

    5. Pop rock band Orleans announced as NYS July 4 celebration headliner

    Office of General Services Commissioner Jeanette Moy announced that a new headliner has been chosen for the New York State Fourth of July celebration at the Empire State Plaza. Pop rock band Orleans will now ring in Independence Day in Albany after the original headliner, Bruce Hornsby, had to cancel his performance due to a vocal issue.
