    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Happy Wednesday! According to Meteorologist Kevin Appleby, the weather for today is looking dry through midday with an increase in showers and thunderstorms after lunchtime.

    Severe storms swept through the Capital Region on Tuesday, causing power outages and road closures. Also, the home of a family in Howe’s Cave burned down over the weekend. These stories, and more, are covered in your five things to know this Wednesday morning.

    1. Multiple power outages across the Capital Region

    Thousands of people are without power throughout the Capital Region, according to National Grid’s outage map. The outages span across Schenectady, Fulton, Montgomery, Warren, and Albany Counties.

    2. Road closures throughout the Capital Region

    Due to storms making their way through the Capital Region, damage and power outages are widespread. Crews are working in Montgomery, Washington, and Warren Counties to repair the outages and the damage that has caused multiple road closures in the region.

    3. Farm family’s home burns down in Howes Cave

    The family home at a farm in Howe’s Cave burned down over the weekend. Henry Hill Farm manager Robin Stine is devastated, but grateful for the support she’s received from her community.

    4. Gloversville man witnessed Trump shooting

    A 26-year-old Gloversville man was an eyewitness to history: the attempted assassination of an American President.

    5. Fulton County deputy credited with saving unresponsive infant

    A Fulton County Sheriff’s deputy is being credited for helping to save an unresponsive infant on Sunday.
