Latest Forecast Update from Meteorologists Steve Caporizzo & Rob Lindenmuth:

We officially hit 91 degrees in Albany this afternoon, marking our 12th 90 degree day of the season so far. We will be a bit lower than this for Wednesday, but the humidity will be a bit higher, so it will still feel very warm and steamy.

A disturbance is rolling through today and overnight tonight, so this will aid in the potential for scattered showers and storms into this evening. The main focus of this activity will likely remain to the north and west of Albany, however, there are indications that some of these will try to hold together so scattered showers and storms overnight will be possible. Aside from that it will be very warm and very humid overnight with lows only dropping into the low to mid 70s by Wednesday morning.

Behind this system, we will see slightly drier air for Thursday with a slight drop in humidity for Thursday afternoon. Despite the slightly drier feel we will still run the risk for a shower or storm into Thursday afternoon or evening. Many of us will remain dry and hot with highs once again in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.

Starting the day out on Wednesday will be quite steamy. Temperatures in the low to mid 70s, mostly cloudy and a few showers around will be likely. It does appear we will see some sunshine breaking out for late morning and into the afternoon.

Hot and humid weather by Wednesday afternoon with highs in the low to mid 80s, and dewpoint temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. Scattered showers and even a few thunderstorms will be more common into the afternoon and evening.

Behind the front we do not see much in the way of cooler air, but the humidity will be slightly less by Thursday morning with partly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70.

While it does look likely most will remain dry on Thursday, we will be keeping a close watch on where a boundary sets up into the afternoon. Showers and storms will likely develop along this boundary, where it looks right now would be just to the south of Albany, regardless, it will still be a hot day with temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s.

We will remain very warm and humid into Friday morning with temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. Another hot day for us on Friday with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s with the chance for rain increasing into the evening and overnight. Humidity will remain rather high into the weekend with a significant drop behind a cold front into early next week.

Chance for showers and storms will remain elevated for both Saturday and Sunday with highs in the mid to upper 80s. We will stay warm into the start of next week with a return to seasonable levels by next Tuesday with much less in the way of humidity! Have a great night! -Cap & Rob
