Fifth annual ‘Fifth Street Marketfest’ festivities now underway
EUGENE, Ore. – A three-day community festival kicks off on Friday at the Fifth Street Market in Eugene with a number of special events included over the weekend. The Eugene Marathon’s Fun Run will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning and yoga is scheduled for Sunday morning, also at 9 a.m. Throughout the weekend, each day is packed with music, activities, vendors, and, of course, food. Beloved member of Eugene’s Black Community dies at 78
Lyllye Reynolds-Parker, a well-loved member of the Eugene community, died Thursday night. The news was shared by her niece in a Facebook post. Reynolds-Parker grew up in Eugene. She was born at Sacred Heart Hospital, and may have been the first Black child born there, according to the University of Oregon.
