Some of these might seem strange on paper, but that’s what you thought when you tried that food pairing you swear by now. (Supposedly, for the adventurous out there, pickles and peanut butter is a treat.) The Power Glove-toting Heatbox brings his blend of comedy and beatboxing loops to The Olympic in Cedar Rapids. Experimental folk artist Jenny Parrott visits The Black Angel on Saturday, flexing their Omnichord and singer/songwriter skills. Storm Lake City Hall Will Be Closed in the Morning Next Tuesday
Storm Lake City Hall will be closed this coming Tuesday, July 30th from 8am to noon. The City of Storm Lake says staff will be available by calling 732-8000 during those hours, or by appointment. Utility payments may be made in the drop box at the City Hall parking lot entry.

Spencer Man to Spend Time in Federal Prison on Drug Charge
A Spencer man has been sentenced to over three years in prison on a federal drug charge. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa, 42-year-old Leon Banks was sentenced yesterday (Fri). Banks previously pleaded guilty in February to Possession With Intent to Distribute a Mixture or Substance With Cocaine within one thousand feet of a protected location.

Milford, IA (KICD) — Earlier this week we reported that Milford Municipal Utilities came to the city of Milford saying that an abandoned, galvanized, water service line should be disconnected from the main and removed.
