    Construction Updates: Pavement and curb removed on Spicer Road

    The city of Albert Lea gave the following updates on the construction projects taking place this summer:

    Spicer Road watermain and reconstruction

    The contractor has completed removal of the pavement and curb, and set up the temporary water supply. Today, July 12, crews started replacing the watermain and plan to finish either Saturday or early next week. Once the new main is installed, crews will perform the required pressure and bacteria tests, and then begin replacing utility services up to the curb stops.

    Fairlane Terrace area

    This week the contractor completed repairs to manholes and catch basins. The next phase of this project is replacing damaged curbs.

    Greenwood Drive resurfacing and sidewalk installation

    The retaining wall subcontractor plans to begin installing the retaining wall needed between the Greenwood Drive bridge and Hammer Road.

    Seventh Street reconstruction

    The contractor completed pavement and curb removal this week, and set up the temporary water supply. Crews have begun replacing the sanitary sewer and plan to finish that next week.

    Winter Avenue reconstruction

    The contractor plans to begin removing the pavement and curb next week, along setting up the temporary water supply.
