DULUTH TO CLEAR ENCAMPMENT NEAR CITY HALL
(Duluth, MN) — The city of Duluth is preparing to clear a homeless campsite near city hall. City workers began posting notices around the encampment at Priley Circle this week after the city council clarified its rules on dealing with homeless camps. Tents were set up by pro-Palestinian protesters earlier this year, but the camp now mainly houses members of the city’s homeless population. The campers will have until early next week to leave the area before the city removes any remaining tents and property.

CARLTON COUNTY SHERIFF TAKING OVER LAW ENFORCEMENT IN MOOSE LAKE
(Moose Lake, MN) — A city in northern Minnesota has given up on having its own police department. Beginning today, the city of Moose Lake will have its law enforcement needs covered by the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office. The Moose Lake City Council voted in February to disband the police department due to its impact on the city’s budget. Four deputies will patrol the city under a two-year contract.
