Two dozen Albuquerque schools have new principals

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Public School (APS) District has 24 new principals. Two more could be coming soon as the district is working on hiring to fill two additional vacancies.

“We’re thrilled to welcome these individuals to their new schools,” APS Superintendent Gabriella Blakey said in a press release. “We’re confident they have the skills and experience necessary to be great school leaders.”

New principals will be taking control at:

• Chaparral Elementary School
• Dolores Gonzales Elementary
• Double Eagle Elementary School
• Emerson Elementary School
• Eugene Field Elementary School
• Governor Bent Elementary School
• Hawthorne Elementary School
• Hodgin Elementary
• Hubert Humphrey Elementary School
• Lew Wallace Elementary School
• Sandia Base Elementary School
• Whittier Elementary School
• Desert Ridge Middle
• Harrison Middle School
• Jimmy Carter Middle
• Kennedy Middle School
• Taft Middle School
• Tony Hillerman Middle School
• Truman Middle School
• Van Buren Middle School
• Atrisco Heritage Academy High School
• eCADEMY High School
• La Cueva High School
