    [1] Albuquerque mayor vetoes plan to change election thresholds; city council may override decision – Albuquerque City Councilor Dan Lewis says the council plans to override Mayor Tim Keller’s veto. City councilors recently approved a ballot measure to let voters decide if the election for mayor and city council seats should be based on who receives the most votes or if there should be a minimum threshold. Keller vetoed that decision saying it would turn the election into a winner-takes-all format. If the council overrides the veto, the resolution will go to voters in November

    [2] VIDEO: Albuquerque police arrest BCSO deputy accused of pointing gun at people – New video shows Albuquerque police responding to a Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office Deputy accused of pointing a gun at two people at an Albuquerque gas station. On the night of Jan. 24, APD officers responded to Circle K on Osuna for reports of someone shouting at people over a P-A system and pointing a gun at them. APD body camera video shows officers coming across BCSO Deputy Michael Borrecco . When officers looked in his vehicle, they found a handgun, several rounds of ammo, two body-worn cameras, and empty bottles of vodka. Borrecco was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and negligent use of a firearm. BCSO put him on administrative leave.

    [3] – Briefly drier on July 4th for most A brief heat-up and drier trend across much of New Mexico is expected. Today, expect temperatures in the upper 80s and 90s for parts of the Rio Grande Valley. After the heat up, there may be some storms in southeast New Mexico and some of that moisture will come back tomorrow and Saturday.

    [4] Amazon fulfillment center opening in Los Lunas – More than 1,000 new jobs will soon be coming to New Mexico, thanks to a massive expansion by Amazon. This comes as Amazon has completed construction of its new fulfillment center west of Los Lunas, on the north side of New Mexico State Road 6. The grand opening of the facility is now scheduled for mid-august

    [5] City of Albuquerque Freedom Fourth celebration – Albuquerque’s Freedom Fourth celebration will take place at Balloon Fiesta Park today. This year’s headliner will be country singer and songwriter Michael Ray. The festivities start at 4 p.m. and Ray will take the stage at 7:45 p.m. If the weather allows, the fireworks show will start at 9: 15 p.m.
