EXCLUSIVE : The New Mexico Film Office announced on Tuesday that its upcoming Film and Television Summit, a day-long event packed with panels, networking opportunities, and career-boosting resources, will take place at The Clyde Hotel in Albuquerque, NM on September 7.

NMFO’s summit offers a deep dive into various aspects of the film and television industry, catering to both newcomers and seasoned professionals. Attendees can expect panel discussions led by industry experts that will cover the following topics, among others:

    • Navigating Film Incentives: Learn about the ins and outs of the Film & TV tax rebates and how New Mexico ranks globally.

    • Why the Best Choose New Mexico: Hear from award-winning producers and studios why the “Land of Enchantment” was the right choice for them.

    • Life Lessons from the Pros: Hear stories and get advice from a panel of below-the-line experts, from art department staffers to camera professionals, who have made working in the New Mexico market a rewarding career.

    • New Mexico’s Got Talent: Join some of the best in the talent business and hear from them what you need to know to excel.

    • Below-the-Line: Panelists will cover what resources are available to give the best shot at entering the New Mexico film industry successfully.

Additionally, the summit provides ample networking opportunities for attendees to connect with industry professionals, crew members, and potential collaborators. Over the course of the day, attendees will come to learn why the local film and television industry (previously highlighted as one of Deadline’s Hot Spots ) surpassed $740 million in direct production spending in 2023, even in the face of a double strike, which halted production for 148 days.

Stated the NMFO’s Deputy Director, Carrie Wells, “The Film and Television Summit is an invaluable platform for fostering connections and knowledge sharing within our thriving film community. We’re excited to provide a space for aspiring and established professionals to learn, network, and explore the exciting possibilities within the New Mexico film industry.”

The New Mexico Film Office, a division of the Economic Development Department, works to ensure the longevity and progress of New Mexico’s film incentive, grow the film, television, and digital media industry, and expand entertainment economic opportunities for New Mexico businesses and residents.
