ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Water Authority crews are continuing to work after a water main broke Sunday afternoon near Montgomery and Morris in northeast Albuquerque.

    Story continues below

Investigators say a water pipe installed over 50 years failed and caused the incident. Officials say two homes have reported water damage, with the garage on one of the homes collapsing due to the weight of the water. Water use was restored to the area Sunday night. People are asked to avoid the area as crews continue to work on repairs. Road closures in the area are expected over the new few days.
