    Luis Alberto Lopez vs. Angelo Leo undercard: Complete list of fights before main event in 2024 boxing match

    Featherweights clash in Albuquerque when Luis Alberto Lopez defends the IBF 126-pound title against Angelo Leo on August 10. The fight airs on ESPN+ in the U.S.

    Lopez (30-2) has transformed into a top star at featherweight. He became known as a “road warrior” after beating  Josh Warrington in Leeds for the IBF belt in 2022 before travelling to Dublin to punish Michael Conlan . In two straight fights in the U.S., “El Venado” has dominated Joet Gonzalez and Reiya Abe.

    Leo (24-1) won the WBO super bantamweight title in 2020 but lost the belt a few months later against Stephen Fulton. He is 4-0 since then, with three wins via knockout. “El Chinito” has 11 wins via the power punch.

    “We know that Angelo Leo is a good fighter who comes forward throwing lots of punches. He doesn't stop in there. So I think we’re going to need a lot of stamina, and we’re going to need to throw a lot of punches,” Lopez said via Boxing Scene .

    “We’re going to be smart but also aggressive. It’s going to be a good fight. It will be a good test for both of us. I don’t plan on letting go of my title. It’s going to be a great clash.”

    Rising contenders are ready to make a dent in the rankings on the undercard, while young prospects look to impress.

    Arnold Khegai vs. Belmar Preciado

    Arnold Khegai faces Belmar Preciado.

    Khegai (21-1-1) competes as a Top Rank-signed fighter for the first time. The Ukrainian is on a five-fight win streak, with three of those victories coming via knockout. He has won 13 fights via the power punch.

    Preciado (22-7-1) is 1-4 in his last five fights and on a two-fight losing streak. He hasn't won consecutive fights since 2019.


    Abraham R. Perez vs. Matthew Griego

    Perez (10-0) has five wins via knockout and looks to go 2-0 in 2024.

    Griego (14-0) has won regional flyweight gold in his career. "Diamond Boy" has 10 wins via knockout, with two straight wins in 2023 via the power punch.


    Vito Mielnicki Jr. vs. Laslo Toth

    Vito Mielnicki Jr. faces Laslo Toth at welterweight.

    Mielnicki (18-1) makes his Top Rank debut. The four-time Junior National Golden Gloves champion has won ten straight contests since 2021, with seven wins via knockout.

    Toth (32-8-2) is a 36-year-old journeyman from Hungary and he's having his first fight in 2024.
