After more than a year sitting vacant, International District Walmart may get new owner
The Walmart in Albuquerque’s International District has been closed for more than 16 months — but the 206,000-square-foot building may not remain vacant much longer. On July 5, a commercial real estate website updated the listing of the former Walmart on San Mateo Boulevard near Central Avenue SE to “under contract.” The supercenter was built in 1994 and was added to the website on May 1, 2023.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The University of New Mexico had 144 honorees to the Spring 2024 Academic All-Mountain West team as the Lobos had the second-most for the spring in the league to give UNM 219 for the academic year. Overall, 1,241 student-athletes were named to the Spring 2024 Academic All-Mountain West team across the sports of swimming and diving, men’s and women’s basketball, gymnastics, men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, softball and baseball.
Southern New Mexicans grapple with public safety concerns after abrupt special legislative session
New Mexico’s special legislative session to address public safety began and ended in a matter of hours. The sole bill that made it to the governor’s desk addressed funding for wildfire recovery efforts and appropriated $3 million to fund assisted outpatient treatment programs and competency diversion pilot programs.
