    Former Alcoa football, Kentucky star Randall Cobb to join SEC Network as analyst

    Former Alcoa football star and NFL receiver Randall Cobb is entering a new career path, as he is set to join SEC Network as a college football studio analyst.

    Cobb, who is from Maryville, won four state titles and a Mr. Football award in 2007. He went on to Kentucky where he earned first-team All-America honors and combined for 2,974 yards rushing and receiving and 35 touchdowns in three seasons.

    “We are thrilled to welcome Randall to the SEC Network crew,” Pete Watters of the SEC Network said in a press release. “His experience and knowledge of the game, both from playing at Kentucky and in the NFL, will be such an asset to our football coverage.”

    Cobb played 13 seasons in the NFL. He began his career with the Green Bay Packers and spent 10 seasons there. He had short stints with the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans and spent last season with the New York Jets. In his NFL career, he had 7,624 receiving yards and 54 touchdowns.

    “I am incredibly excited to be coming home to the SEC with this new role,” Cobb said in a release. “The level of greatness this conference provides year after year is unmatched – I cannot wait to return to the conference family with this SEC Network crew.”
