    Man arrested for assaulting rideshare passenger, Alexandria police say

    ALEXANDRIA, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Police in Alexandria said they arrested a driver who assaulted his rideshare passenger two weeks ago.

    The Alexandria Police Department (APD) arrested 33-year-old Reshad Nasseri on Sunday and charged him with aggravated sexual battery for an incident that happened on July 19.

    On that Friday, APD said Nasseri sexually assaulted a passenger in the 5000 block of Seminary Road after they requested transportation.

    Police are asking anyone who was in the area that night and might have seen something suspicious to call APD Detective Abigail Fillinger at (703) 746-6677 or the APD non-emergency number at (703) 746-4444. Callers can remain anonymous.
