Former GOP Chair Kristina Karamo Booted from GOP Convention
FLINT, Aug. 26, 2024 ~ The Michigan GOP Convention highlighted divisions within the party Saturday, including its former chairperson being escorted away by security. Former Michigan GOP Chair Kristina Karamo was kicked out of the convention in the Dart Financial Center in Flint, who said she was their to support Michigan Supreme Court candidate Alexandria Taylor, who failed to garner enough delegate support to make it to the ballot. Karamo was booted from her leadership role in Janurary due to criticisms of how she handled party finances, and was later replaced by former Congressman Pete Hoekstra, who faced scattered boos at the convention.

ANN ARBOR, MI - Ron Weiser, one of two Republicans on the University of Michigan Board of Regents, did not win the party’s nomination for the November general election. Weiser, the former Michigan GOP chair, who first won his regents seat in 2016, lost his re-election bid during the Republican party’s Saturday, Aug. 24 convention. The Detroit Police Department is seeking public assistance in the case of a missing 18-year-old, Isa Muhammad, who has been reported as having autism. Hoppers Win Over Mammoths, 4-3
UTICA, Mich. – The Eastside Diamond Hoppers (22-21) won over the Westside Woolly Mammoths (23-18), 4-3, in Sunday afternoon’s contest at Jimmy John’s Field. Two Hoppers hit home runs, Todd Mattox and Noah Marcoux. Marcoux now leads the USPBL in home rune with nine. Mattox had one additional hit, ending the game with two.
