ALLIANCE – An Alliance native has joined the Greater Alliance Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

Chas Mitchell, who works in his family’s business, Grove Appliance TV & Mattress, has joined the community agency.

Mitchell earned a finance degree from Grove City College and an MBA from Malone University. He began his career in the pharmaceutical industry at Pfizer, and in 2015 returned to the Carnation City, joining Grove Appliance TV & Mattress.

“Chas continues the rich legacy of charitable work established by his grandfather Charlie Grove, who was a co-founder of our foundation,” said Doug Schwarz, executive director of Greater Alliance Foundation. “More important, as the Greater Alliance Foundation enters our second quarter century, it is only fitting that the next generation of area leaders have a voice. Our community is fortunate that we have young, caring and committed residents like Chas to meet the challenges of tomorrow.”

Mitchell resides in Alliance with his wife, Jaclyn, and their three children. He serves on the board of a local child development center and is also a member of Alliance Rotary and Filibusters. He has replaced his mother, Beth Mitchell, on the GAF board. Her term expired in March 2024.

"I'm incredibly enthusiastic about joining the board at the Greater Alliance Foundation, where I'm honored to further the visionary legacy of Jack Peters and Charlie Grove,” Mitchell said. “Together, we'll continue to enrich our community through impactful grants and outreach initiatives."

The Greater Alliance Foundation’s mission is to strengthen the greater Alliance community by serving and connecting people, resources, and needs through philanthropic giving.
