Good evening Des Moines, Iowa City and Quad Cities assignment desks,. Here is an 11:00 p.m. storm update for Monday, July 15, 2024. As of 11:00 p.m., about 40,000 MidAmerican customers are currently without electric service due to tonight’s severe storm outbreak, including more than 31,000 in the Quad Cities metro area, just under 8,500 in the Des Moines metro area and about 90 in the Iowa City area.
Big Red Radio Keokuk Co Expo Preview
The KCII Summer Town Tour continues this week as the Big Red Radio makes its next stop at the Keokuk County Expo on July 16 and 18th. We will be broadcasting live from the grounds in Sigourney on Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm. The Keokuk County Expo, which kicked off on Sunday, continues through Saturday, July 20th with wall-to-wall activities. WINDSOR HEIGHTS, Iowa (FOX 9) - A storm sent debris flying into traffic in Windsor Heights, Iowa, on Monday as a tornado moved through the region. Kevin Grimes captured video on his dashcam of the scene while he drove through the storm. Footage of the chaos shows downed trees, damaged street signs, power flashes and captured the sound of tornado sirens.

(Des Moines) A Severe Thunderstorm Watch in in effect until 11:00 p.m. for the following counties in southwest Iowa: Adair, Audubon, Carroll, Crawford, Guthrie. One Person Killed, Suspect Arrested in Black Hawk County Shooting
(Hudson, Iowa) -- One person is dead after a shooting Sunday in Black Hawk County. Investigators say police responded to reports of the shooting around 3:40 Sunday morning in Hudson, south of Waterloo. Police say when officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The man later died of his injuries at a local hospital. A suspect has been taken into custody.
