Nike trimmed from the top in recent layoffs, new disclosure shows
Nike cut heavily from the top in its recent mass layoff, according to a new filing with Oregon workforce officials. The sportswear giant in April said it would eliminate 740 Oregon jobs, part of a 2% reduction in its global workforce and an ongoing $2 billion cost-cutting effort. Nike has been losing ground against smaller, nimbler rivals and focusing on developing new products.

According to the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), Operation Dry Water is a year-round boating under the influence awareness and enforcement campaign that began back in 2009. Boating Under the Influence (BUI) includes prescription drugs, alcohol, inhalants, marijuana or any substance that impairs a person’s ability to operate a boat safely. Consequences include possible jail time and a fine over $6,000.

Barge ablaze after Portland’s Waterfront Blues Festival fireworks show, one hospitalized
