“Best Of” Fall Sports—Volleyball Top Moment
The 2023 Egyptian Illini Conference Volleyball Tournament Championship was an intense battle from start to finish. St. Elmo-Brownstown has been a familiar face in the title game for many years, while Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City came into the tournament as the #5 seed and upset top-seeded Ramsey and #4 seed Patoka-Odin to earn their spot in the Championship. The two teams would battle point for point through set one with SEB taking the close set win 26-24. CHBC came out strong in set two for a big 25-13 win as the match would be tied at a set apiece. Down to the deciding third set, the Eagles and Bobcats again battled point for point with SEB again pulling out the tight 26-24 win to claim the match 2-1 and the EIC Tournament Championship.
