Sioux Center Woman Arrested After Crash
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Sioux Center woman while investigating a car crash ten miles west of Sioux Center early Monday morning. 21-year-old Alexis Trejo of Sioux Center was arrested after she lost control of the Chevrolet Malibu she was driving and ended up in the ditch.
Sanborn Woman Pulled from Burning Vehicle
Alton, IA (KICD) — A Sanborn woman was pulled from a burning vehicle near Alton early Friday morning. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Department says 25 year old Madison Borden was Northbound on Highway 60 two miles South of town when she entered the median and rolled. Other motorists stopped to get her out after her Buck Terraza burst into flames.

Two Officers Sworn in with Sioux Center Police
The Sioux Center Police Department is welcoming Lance Hulstein and David Walker as new officers. Hulstein and Walker were sworn in Monday at the City Council meeting. "We're very honored to have both David and Lance in the police department, and there is no doubt in my mind both of these guys will do a phenomenal job for the City of Sioux Center," said Police Chief Josh Koedam.
Hull man arrested for OWI by Rock Valley
ROCK VALLEY—A 39-year-old rural Hull man was arrested about 11:25 p.m. Friday, July 12, near Rock Valley on a charge of first-offense operating while under the influence. The arrest of Chad Evan Vanden Bosch stemmed from a deputy on patrol noticing the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe behind him had a faulty headlight while traveling west on Highway 18, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheldon House Fire (July 13th)
Sheldon, IA (KICD) — A Saturday evening fire in Sheldon appears to have been electrical in nature. The Sheldon Fire Department was alerted to a possible blaze at 1816 East 9th Street around 9:30pm. Smoke was coming from the chimney and could be observed through the living room window. The department made entry through the garage and made a sweep of the first floor but found no one home. Backup from neighboring communities were called in as the department proceeded to the basement where they found a fire in a bedroom that was quickly extinguished using about one thousand gallons of water.
Sheldon Home Sustains Extensive Damage In Saturday Night Fire
Sheldon, Iowa — Any occupants of a home on East 9th Street in Sheldon will likely not be able to live in their house for a while after a fire on Saturday evening, July 13th. According to Sheldon Fire Chief Brad Hindt, the call came in shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday night. He says they were called to 1816 East 9th Street for a possible fire. The call noted that smoke was seen coming out of the chimney and windows.
Woman saved after van rolls, catches fire
ALTON—Others helped save a motorist whose vehicle had rolled and started on fire about 12:05 a.m. Friday, July 12, on the Highway 60 expressway, two miles south of Alton. Twenty-five-year-old Madison Ruth Ann Borden of Sanborn was driving north when she lost control of her 2005 Buick Terraza, which entered the median and rolled, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
