Gordon Moore Park remains closed until further notice
Gordon Moore Park in Alton remains closed for now and there’s no word yet on when it might reopen. Officials with the company that operates the limestone quarry and mine that runs underneath some of the park have been investigating how the sinkhole happened at the turf soccer and football fields last week and how to proceed.
