Altoona hospice patient surprised by old friend, San Francisco 49ers player

BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A patient at Pinnacle Catholic Hospice Care received a special surprise visit over the weekend.

Sammy, a patient at the hospice care center and a former Altoona football coach, was surprised with a visit from Kevin Givens, a current player for the San Francisco 49ers, where he plays as a Defensive Tackle. The two were reunited on Friday, July 12, after not seeing each other for years.

Givens, who played in the Super Bowl, once played in Altoona as well. Givens also played at Penn State for four years.

“It was a really special experience for everyone,” the care center wrote in a Facebook post .
