ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Altoona Curve kicked off their first “s’WINGfest” night at People’s Natural Gas Field on Thursday.

The event replaced the former “Wing Fest” that was usually held at Legion Park. The last event was held in 2023 before it was canceled.

Fans had free admission into the stadium and walked along the main concourse to enjoy wings from local restaurants, along with drinks and live music from local bands.

Free summer art program for kids starting soon in Altoona

“When it was announced that there were to be no festivals like this in our region this summer, the Curve stepped up to fill the void,” Steve Horton, owner of Co”BRH”s Lounge and Sports Bar said. “Having the Curve as a host this summer offers plenty of new amenities that expand from our old event at Legion Park, such as a surplus of bathrooms, parking and covered areas.

“I know a lot of people here,” Jeff Burket said. “I’ve just been coming out and seeing people I haven’t seen in a while.”

More scheduled dates are planned for the wing festival later this summer when the Curve is on the road.

    The dates are:

    • July 25
    • August 8
    • August 22
    • September 5
