Bethel Park, Butler and Milwaukee, and how MAGA hate persists
I grew up in Peters Township, a suburb of Pittsburgh that buttresses Bethel Park, the community where Donald Trump’s would-be assassin, James Crooks, lived. Bethel Park was a rival to Peters Township in many ways, especially when our sports teams faced each other. We disliked each other when those games occurred. And though there may have been a township line that divided the two communities, in so many ways, Bethel and Peters just blended together. The phrase “A great place to raise a family” comes to mind.

Pittsburgh's Mason Miller throws hardest recorded pitch in MLB All-Star Game history
ARLINGTON (KDKA) - All eyes were focused on Texas on Tuesday night as the Pirates rookie phenom Paul Skenes began the night as the National League's starting pitcher in the 2024 MLB All-Star Game. In the 94th Midsummer Classic, Skenes was able to toss a scoreless first inning, facing four batters, and showing off his triple-digit skills, topping out at 100.1 mph. His first batter was the Guardians' Steven Kwan who hit into a pop-fly for the first out, followed by a comebacker from Gunnar Henderson of the Orioles. Skenes then walked the Yankees Juan Soto but it led to the matchup everyone...
Former Yankees pitcher who threw perfect game opts out of Pirates deal
Right-hander Domingo German was released by the Pirates this week, per the transaction log at MiLB.com. He’d been pitching with their Triple-A affiliate in Indianapolis. Robert Murray of FanSided reports that German exercised an opt-out clause in his contract, prompting the release. The Bucs remain open to bringing him back, per Murray — presumably on a new minor league pact.

I regret to inform you the Eagles have reloaded once more
The 2023 Philadelphia Eagles were the 2020 Pittsburgh Steelers in disguise. The 2020 Steelers started out 11-0 as whispers of fraudulence followed them to the top of the NFL standings. They finished that season on a 1-5 streak capped by an ignominious loss to Baker Mayfield as a home favorite in the Wild Card round.
