Author Q&A

 What inspired you to write your first book? 

Buried beneath the layers of everyday life, there was a long-forgotten childhood dream, a desire that had once burned brightly but had been dimmed by the passing of years and the accumulation of responsibilities. It was the aspiration to write a book, a dream that had been tucked away in the recesses of the heart, waiting for the right moment to re-emerge. Then, unexpectedly, an event unfolded in reality, a remarkable occurrence that was too compelling, too extraordinary to be ignored. It was as if fate had presented a story so intriguing and perfect that it seemed tailor-made for the pages of a book. This serendipitous event reignited the dormant passion for writing, stirring the long-suppressed yearning to weave words into stories. So, with a mixture of excitement and trepidation, I took a leap of faith. I decided to seize this opportunity, to embrace this chance that life had offered. It was a bold move, stepping into the unknown, but driven by the powerful combination of a childhood dream and an incredible real-life story, I was ready to embark on the journey of writing my book.

How did you come up with the title? 

The title "Burning Hope" symbolizes a journey through an uncertain and unclear path, one that is essential to embark upon. "Burning" represents a deep, unquenchable fire within, a passionate drive for change and growth, while "Hope" is the sustaining flame, a gentle yet persistent light guiding the way forward. This title poetically juxtaposes the fierce inner desire with the guiding light of hope, underscoring that even in the face of obscurity and challenges, it is this blend of passionate determination and optimistic guidance that propels us forward. "Burning Hope" is an emblem of the human condition, an invitation to embrace the journey with its fears and uncertainties, trusting in the power of hope to illuminate the path to fulfillment and meaning.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? 

 The essence of the message is that despite our shortcomings and perceived failures by our own standards, hope remains accessible, and love continues to thrive and be within reach. It highlights how the narratives we tell ourselves can sometimes lead us down negative paths, yet with a change in perspective, we can steer our lives towards positivity and flourishing. It emphasizes that each individual is crafted with a purpose, and it is through Jesus that we find the anchored hope leading to a life of abundance.

What was the hardest part of writing your book? 

The most challenging aspect of writing my book was ensuring that the underlying message of Hope and Jesus was intricately and consistently woven throughout the narrative. This task required not only a deep understanding of the themes I wanted to explore but also a delicate balance in storytelling. It was imperative to integrate these themes in a way that felt organic and not forced, allowing them to naturally emerge through the characters, their experiences, and the progression of the plot.

Can you share a little of your current work with us? 

As a speaker dedicated to the vital theme of self-discovery and living in harmony with one's true purpose, my journey has led me to explore the depths of what it means to fully embrace and love who we are created to be. This exploration has not only been a cornerstone of my talks and seminars but has also inspired my next literary venture, a book project that promises to delve even deeper into these profound themes.

I'm thrilled to announce that there's another book project currently in its early stages of development. As I delve into the creative process, shaping the book's theme and structure, I invite you to stay tuned for more updates on this exciting journey. Do you have any advice for other writers? 

Embark on your creative journey with courage, taking that first crucial step while staying true to your core self. Remember, the essence of your work should reflect your unique voice and values, not be swayed by external opinions or trends. It's not about seeking approval from others, but about expressing your authentic self. Along this path, it’s vital to surround yourself with a supportive and encouraging network – be it friends, family, mentors, or fellow creatives. This support system will not only provide emotional and moral backing but also keep you grounded, motivated, and focused on your goals. With a blend of boldness, authenticity, and a strong community, you're well-equipped for a fulfilling and successful creative venture.
