Do you know someone who needs to being recognized as a Man or Woman of the Year or a Citizens on the Move? We'd like to hear from you.

The annual awards recognize members of the community who are making a positive impact in Amarillo. Send in your nominations via email for the Amarillo Globe-News 2024 Man and Woman of the Year, as well as Citizens on the Move awards, which are being presented by FirstBank Southwest.

Nominations may be emailed to newmedia@amarillo.com now through Sept. 27.

Submissions should include the name of the nominee and person nominating them, a brief description of the nominee's contributions to the community, and contact information for both the nominee and nominator.

The Man and Woman of the Year awards were first presented in 1950 to the Man of the Year, and in 1974 the awards were first presented to the Woman of the Year. 2023's honorees were April Johansson and Tremaine Brown, who were honored during a reception in January at the Amarillo Civic Center. The Citizens on the Move awards were added in 2018 to honor people who are making a difference in the community.

Winners of the Man and Woman of the Year awards will be announced at the end of the year. Plans are still being made to host a celebration of the 2024 recipients, and more information will come soon.
