    West Texas A&M ranked 6th in LSC preseason football coaches poll

    AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Lone Star Conference released its 2024 Football Preseason Poll, ranking West Texas A&M sixth in the conference.

    In their first year under Head Coach Josh Lynn the Buffs went 3-7 on the season and 2-6 in conference play.

    The LSC preseason football poll:

    • 1. Central Washington – 286 points
    • 2. Angelo State – 260 points
    • 3. UT Permian Basin – 244 points
    • 4. Texas A&M-Kingsville – 202 points
    • 5. Midwestern State – 153 points
    • 6. West Texas A&M – 149 points
    • 7. Eastern New Mexico – 128 points
    • 8. Western Oregon – 118 points
    • 9. Western New Mexico – 68 points
    • 10. Sul Ross State – 42 points

    According to WTAMU, all 10 teams in the conference will play nine conference games to determine the LSC champion.

    The Buffaloes begin their 2024 season on Aug. 29 in Alpine, Texas against the Sul Ross State Lobos at Jackson Field.
