For over six decades, Loretta Lynn dominated country music with her love for the genre. Besides winning countless awards throughout her time in the spotlight, the singer showcased her amazing talent as she released over 40 studio albums. Her last album, Still Woman Enough, hit shelves back in 2021. Sadly, her career ended in October 2022 when she passed away at 90 years old. While gone, Lynn left behind a legacy that continues to echo throughout the years. Looking back on her dazzling career, the country legend once performed at the CMA Awards at the Grand Ole Opry alongside Kacey Musgraves with a duet of “You’re Lookin’ At Country.”

Throughout the history of the CMA Awards, the event produced more than a few memorable moments featuring stars like Alan Jackson, Beyonce, and Sturgill Simpson. But back in 2014, all eyes were on Musgraves and Lynn as they commanded the stage. Seeming at home on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry, Lynn walked out to a roaring crowd. Even Musgraves took a moment to call her the “Queen of Country Music.”

    Kacey Musgraves Loves Her Privacy

While the performance took place a decade ago, the duet holds a key spot in the history of the CMA Awards. And fans couldn’t agree more as they commented, “I think she sung this song the best besides Loretta of course. Nobody could sing it like the creator, Loretta, but Kacey did an awesome job.” Another comment included, “The crowd’s reaction to the announcement for Loretta Ladies and gentlemen the Queen of country music Ms Loretta Lynn priceless and exactly what she deserves.”

Although climbing the ranks and charts of country music, Musgraves isn’t a fan of the fame that comes with being in the spotlight. Once speaking to People, the singer discussed how much she loves her privacy and simply staying home. “I really enjoy and revere my privacy and having something just for me and my personal life. I’m really kind of a homebody. And as you get ready to release a project, this tsunami of madness is coming to work me.” She continued, “And you’re going to be very public-facing again. And that can be — that’s kind of hard for me sometimes.”

While not a fan of the spotlight, when standing in it – Musgraves proved she is a top talent, holding seven Grammy Awards.
